Here is a tour to our amazing lockdown villa. Villa Bohol is a grandiose Spanish style residence located on the eastern part of Panglao island. It is in between the regions biggest town Tagbilaran City and the tourist hotspot Alona Beach with 15-20 minutes car ride to either of the locations. We found the villa from Airbnb while going through all of the seaside options on the island to stay during coronavirus quarantine.
The house has 3 floors. The first floor has a massive living area, a dining room and a kitchen. The second story has bedrooms and a spacious balcony with stunning sea view. The last level is a tower room, that has a hanging bed.
The biggest attractions are the big yard with plenty of local fruits growing around and of course the infinity pool with jaccuzzi overlooking the ocean. The house is large enough to easily accommodate 15 people in 8 beds in the main bedrooms. This can be enhanced with a separate access dormitory room and an adjacent garden house with its private kitchen. Perfect for big groups and events but not overly spacious for our band of 4.
The service is great, you can ask the 24-7 on-site guard doing maintenance to help with small shopping and driving, laundry will be taken care of and fresh coconuts are always available. Cooking can be arranged. We used that option of living large for the first month and their plant-based meals were versatile and delicious.
We enjoyed our 2 months being locked down in the villa. We learned how to use and cook coconut in many different ways, sang karaoke, hosted a very glittery full-moon party with our neighbours, read, wrote and meditated. Both our pool and the sea got used every day for swimming, snorkelling or freediving and we tried to squeeze in home workouts and yoga into our quite busy quarantine schedule.
